Email us anytime — we read everything: contact@apioni.com.

Delete your Apioni account or data

Email us to request account deletion from the email address on your Apioni account so we can verify ownership. If you cannot sign in, you can still make the request by email. Never send us your password.

To keep your account but remove selected notes or other data, email us a data deletion request from your account address and identify what you want deleted. Never send us your password.

If you can sign in, open Settings → Data & Privacy and choose Delete account. Your account data, synced notes, attachments, and knowledge derived from your notes are deleted from our systems within 30 days, except purchase records we must keep longer under tax or commerce law. See our Privacy Policy for details.

Where are my notes?

In your Apioni account. Sign in from any browser and everything is there — the same notes, the same search, the same chat history. You write in blocks, and each note is stored as plain Markdown — so what you write is what you get back when you export.

Do I need to install anything?

No. Apioni runs in your browser. Open the app, sign in, and start writing.

When does AI processing run, and what does it do?

Processing can run after capture, when you leave a changed note, or when you request it. Choose a mode yourself or use Adaptive. Adaptive does not restructure a note. It applies light cleanup within your plan, and a structural rewrite runs only when you choose Restructure. See the processing modes for the full list.

Understanding runs underneath: each note is broken into ideas — the smallest self-contained statements — and the people, projects, books, and events inside them are pulled out, tagged, and linked to the ideas they relate to. That is what makes search find a note by meaning rather than by the words you happened to use.

Which changes wait for approval?

A structural rewrite stays in Review until you accept it. Proposed changes to relations between notes wait there too. Rejecting a proposal leaves the note or relation unchanged; each proposal is reviewed on its own.

What does note history keep?

Apioni records checkpoints of your note as you edit while signed in. During continuous editing it keeps the first and latest save in each minute. AI edits, organization changes, and restores are recorded too. Choose Save version to keep an exact copy of the note as it is now. Open any entry to compare it with the current note and restore it. Restoring first saves the current note, so you can recover the text you replaced.

Automatic checkpoints (shown as Saved edit) are thinned over time. When a note has more than 500, the oldest are removed first, however recent. Below that limit, Apioni keeps all checkpoints from the last 30 days, the first and last of each hour from 30 to 90 days, and the first and last of each day from 90 days to one year. Checkpoints older than one year are removed. Hours and days are counted in UTC. Cleanup runs in the background, so a note can briefly have more than 500. Your most recent checkpoint and any checkpoint you have restored from are always kept. Saved versions, AI edits, organization changes, restores, imports, and sync conflict copies are never thinned. Some older AI history entries include the note text but not its title.

History restores one note at a time. It is not a whole-workspace point-in-time restore. If this device has an edit waiting to sync, reconnect and sync it before saving or restoring a version.

Why does chat sometimes refuse to answer?

Because it only answers from your notes, and it will not fill a gap by guessing. Every answer names the ideas it came from, so you can open the source and check it. When your notes do not contain enough to answer, it says so instead of writing something plausible.

What works without a connection?

In the browser, you can keep editing notes already held in the offline cache. Reconnect for account sync, AI processing, semantic search, Chat, and updates to the knowledge layer. The desktop app edits a local folder of Markdown files and does not include those account and AI features yet.

What can I import?

Open a note's More menu and choose Import…. You can bring in Markdown, Word (.docx), HTML, a Notion export .zip, or a folder from an Obsidian vault. Apioni previews the notes before creating them and lists unsupported files it skipped.

Can I get my notes out?

Yes, and without asking us. Export a note, a folder, or everything as Markdown (.md), Word (.docx), PDF, HTML, JSON (blocks), and Obsidian vault (.zip). Export is available on every plan and does not spend AI credits.

What uses credits, and what is free?

AI cleanup, knowledge extraction, and grounded answers use credits. Writing, keyword and semantic search, sync, and export do not. Free covers 50 notes and 200 monthly credits. Plus and Pro raise the note and credit limits and unlock additional processing modes. All three are laid out on the pricing page.

How do I connect another app with API or MCP?

API and MCP access is available on Plus and Pro. Open Settings → API & MCP. A compatible app can open an Apioni approval screen, or you can create a scoped API key for a script or tool. Choose read-only or read-and-write access, and revoke a key or disconnect an app from the same screen.

How do I change or cancel my plan?

Any time you like — changes take effect on your next billing date, and your notes stay exactly where they are on any plan. Open Settings → Billing and use Cancel subscription; you keep the plan until the period you already paid for ends. If you would rather not do it yourself, or a charge looks wrong, email contact@apioni.com and we will sort it out.

Polar is our merchant of record, so it is the seller on your receipt. It runs a customer portal you can sign in to with the email address you bought with, to cancel a subscription, download invoices and receipts, or change your payment method, and it answers first-line questions about payments at support@polar.sh. Refunds are not handled there — we issue those ourselves, so ask us. See our Refund Policy.

What do you store, and why?

Your account email, your notes, and what the AI derives from them — that is what makes sync, search, and grounded answers work. Our Privacy Policy is the full account of what is stored, where, and how to have it deleted.
